Roy`s Full-Time Occupation is a Carpet Repair Specialist, Roy says `I am on a mission to reduce the carbon foot print left by throw away carpets. I know we live in a throw away society but when newly installed carpets get scrapped for a tiny fault such as a cat scratch or someone accidentally drops a hot pan or iron on the carpet, I find it ridiculous that it can quickly get replaced and ends up on land fill when the carpet is still very much fit for purpose. I mean that every carpet I repair is another one Saved from the scrapheap and hopefully going some way to reducing the carbon foot print left by Unnecessary carpet waste.
In the past 20 years in Tamworth as a Qualified Carpet Fitter, I have recently seen a marginal demand for repairing carpets, this may have also been credit-crunch orientated due to the current economic affairs. However its a small business that I run and hopefully it will continue to grow and do my bit for the planet at the same time.`
